Fans of P-square have been asking why P-square's videos have not been played since january 2015 on soundcity, so P-Square advised their fans to ignore the station and keep watching them on MTVbase, HipTv and Afro pop and he also said that soundcity refused to play them. #HowIsThatPossible?
Now this is the reason why soundcity has refused to play P-Sqaure videos on their network...
For 10 years, Soundcity TV has been a huge supporter of P-Square and the P-Square brand, right from their first music video to the last video released in 2014. Most of their videos got massive airplay on Soundcity TV than any other music channel.
“SoundcityTV viewers sometimes complain about the dominance of P-Square videos on the channel and charts. We were a huge supporter and gave everything to their works.
Soundcity said that they had assisted the P-Square brand, toured with them over Africa at their expense. They gave them ad-spots for their events and projects.
NOW THE MAIN REASON
Soundcity had invited the P-Square to one of its annual events in December 2014 and the group insisted that they should be paid a certain amount of money as fee.
Despite the fact that Soundcity had invested a lot in the P-Square’s career as music talents, artistes and entertainers, the station asked to know what it could offer the group. But, in response to the request, Jude Okoye, manager of the group, had demanded to know what Soundcity had ever done for the music group.
Soundcity said that even though they know that this is business there is also room for special consideration. Saying that their TV brand has never done anything for P-Square was not true. Clearly, there was no need to argue with their decision and reasoning.
So they decided to stop ‘doing anything’ with and for P-Square, since our 10 years of supporting the group meant nothing to them.
I strongly believe that what P-Square did was not wrong #BusinessMehn! but still,
If YOU WERE SOUNDCITY, WOULD YOU STILL PLAY P-SQUARE'S VIDEOS????
